A Credit to Iceland!

Relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Not at all tourist-y, the real Icelandic deal for sure! I dined there twice. If you are an American try the fermented shark appitizer. You as I will probably find it not what you expect. Also I had the lamb hotdog, the seafood soup, and the smoked salmon with trout roe. All fantastic.

Great restaurant and bar with traditional Icelandic food

We came here for dinner and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Our server was also very helpful and explained some of the dishes. They have traditional icelandic food, with quite a nice variety to choose from. We had a starter plate to share, which I can recommend since it included a lot of different things to try. They even have the fermented shark fin, which you can order by the piece. I had the fish and chips which were quite good. I can recommend this place.

Great drinking atmosphere and friendly staff

This bar has a sampler plate of most Icelandic delicacies so you dont' have to spend so much to taste them! I loved every little thing on the plates here including the fermented shark (hakarl) and the whale steak! Great drinking atmosphere and friendly staff who will explain everything to you to the tee!

Great Icelandic food: quaint and casual

Great Icelandic food: quaint and casual. A beautiful musical selection accompanies the meal in a warm environment with very kind waiters. I ordered a lobster hot dog and the whale steak, what can I say, a wonderful experience.

Make reservations!

We had no reservations and had to wait outside in the wind and cold, but it was worth it. A foodie tour group came in just before us so we knew it would be good. Standard Icelandic dishes. Lamb, fish, soups. They have the fermented shark, but we were not brave enough. Everything tasted wonderful. Would highly recommend for local experience. Recommend the Icelandic pancakes to finish the evening. Viking Gold beer excellent also.

We had this restaurant recommended to us by a local for authentic cuisine. It did not disappoint! We enjoyed lamb flatbread, lobster roll, fresh fish of the day, and a crepe like dessert. All the food was delicious. We had been traveling and we’re starting and it was just the place! The staff were very helpful in recommending things to try!
